  • Write a 3-4 page analysis of your care setting that supports development of a strategic plan and includes both the discovery and dream phases of an appreciative inquiry (AI) project and a strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and results (SOAR) analysis

Write a 3-4 page analysis of your care setting that supports development of a strategic plan and includes both the discovery and dream phases of an appreciative inquiry (AI) project and a strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and results (SOAR) analysis of the healthcare setting.

    Collapse All

Introduction Identifying analysis techniques for assessing competitive advantage is important for building healthcare strategy. Sustaining healthcare competitive advantage requires that leaders understand environmental demands to assist with minimizing weakness and threats from the external environment. This assessment provides you with an opportunity to examine your healthcare environment to determine whether what is being accomplished in your organization, department, team, community project, or other care setting is making a positive difference.

Note: You will use the results of this analysis to develop a strategic plan in Assessment 3.

Professional Context Master’s-level nursing leaders need to be able to apply critical thinking and analysis skills in order to discover not only what makes their care settings great, but also to find opportunities to improve gaps. The ability to identify, understand, and leverage opportunities for improvements and consistent high achievement can help nursing leaders ensure their care settings are reliably able to deliver improvements in quality and safety. An understanding of different methods for analyzing a healthcare setting is also important to ensure the right tool is being applied in appropriate circumstances.

Scenario You have been tasked to conduct an analysis of your care setting that will result in two potential pathways for later creating a strategic plan to improve quality and safety. This analysis will include organizational structure. In order to accomplish this, you have been asked to present the discovery and dream phases of an appreciative inquiry (AI) project using the principles of the SOAR model and apply this to the practicum or organization care setting. You will be provided with an opportunity to reflect on the results, as well as evaluate the leadership characteristics and skills that would be desirable for the person leading the potential initiatives that could grow out of your analyses.

Preparation Your work for this assessment will inform some aspects of your later assessments. Look ahead to those assessments to see how they all fit together.

As a part of this assessment, you will be completing a SOAR analysis and must include the completed SOAR Analysis Template [DOCX] document in your submission as a separate attachment. This is a good time to reflect on your readings from Week 2 for examples on the use of SOAR.

You may also want to read the Care Setting SOAR Analysis rubric to better understand how each grading criterion will be assessed.

Instructions The requester of the analysis has stated that you should be sure to address the following in your report.

Note: The bullet points below correspond to grading criteria in the rubric. Be sure your work is, at minimum, addressing each of the bullets.

Part 1: Appreciative Inquiry Discovery and Dream Appraise how the organization’s leadership structure of this care setting promotes quality and safety goals. Explain the results of your SOAR analysis, including: S: Critique the strengths of the organization and how it promotes quality and safety. How are they used to achieve the organization’s goals? O: Explain one area of concern you identified in your SOAR analysis that is relevant to your care setting’s mission, vision, and values. How do you propose pursuing improvements in this area of concern? A: Describe how the organization could reach its goals to improve quality and safety. What strategic initiative supports the organization’s aspirations? R: Describe how meaningful quality outcomes measurements are accomplished through the organizational leadership structure. What evidence-based practices support your approach? Present an analysis of relevant skills and leadership characteristics that would be beneficial in pursuing quality and safety improvement projects that could grow out of the AI approach and SOAR analysis results. Part 2: SOAR Analysis Complete and submit the SOAR Analysis Template [DOCX] and submit as a separate attachment. Address Generally Throughout Report Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders and colleagues. Incorporate supporting evidence using APA style citations and references, and adhering to organizational, professional, and scholarly communication standards. Submission Requirements Length: 3–4 double-spaced, typed pages, not including title page, references, or attached SOAR template. Your report should be succinct yet substantive. SOAR Template: Submit SOAR analysis template as a separate attachment. References: Cite a minimum of 3–5 sources of scholarly or professional evidence to support your analysis. APA formatting: Resources and citations are formatted according to current APA style. Competencies Measured By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and rubric criteria:

Competency 1: Evaluate qualities and skills that promote effective leadership within healthcare organizations. Present an analysis of relevant skills and leadership characteristics that would be beneficial in pursuing quality and safety improvement projects that could grow out of the AI approach and SOAR analysis results. Competency 2: Integrate evidence based strategies to lead high performing healthcare teams to meet organizational quality and safety goals. Appraise how the organization’s leadership structure of this care setting promotes quality and safety goals. Critique the strengths of the organization and how it promotes quality and safety. Explain one area of concern you identified in your SOAR analysis relevant to your care setting’s mission, vision, and values. Describe how the organization could reach its goals to improve quality and safety. Describe how meaningful quality outcomes measurements are accomplished through the organizational leadership structure. Competency 6: Communicate effectively with diverse audiences, in an appropriate form and style, consistent with applicable organizational, professional, and scholarly standards. Complete and submit the SOAR analysis template as a separate attachment. Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders and colleagues, incorporating supporting evidence using APA style citations and references, and adhering to organizational, professional, and scholarly communication standards.

  • The focus of this assignment is to continue working with your team in the Competition Industry in the CAPSIM simulation and analyze the results from this round to continue reporting on the Key Performance Indicators you identified.

Assignment 4: Complete Round 2 of CAPSIM

    Instructions

    Background

The focus of this assignment is to continue working with your team in the Competition Industry in the CAPSIM simulation and analyze the results from this round to continue reporting on the Key Performance Indicators you identified. In this round, you can access the Human Resource module in Capsim.

You will be making decisions that position your product against customer requirements, building a production process that allows you to meet the market demands for your products, how to finance those operations, and how to improve processes and products through Research and Development, Marketing, Finance, Production and in this round, you will have access to the Human Resource module as well.

Finally, you will learn to read and interpret a complete set of performance documents, including Cash Flow Statements, Income Statements, Production and Sales summaries, and the Balanced Scorecard.

The instructor will check the simulation dashboard to confirm that you have completed this round and provide feedback to help you with the remainder of the competitive industry.

Please note that your grade in the course does not depend on how well you do in the simulation. In that sense, the “competition rounds” are a misnomer. You can do well or poorly in the rounds. It doesn’t matter. What matters is that you can understand and explain the effects of your decisions on the financial results, which you will track weekly as you report on the Key Performance Indicators you identified. You will also report on a new financial measure you have not yet examined.

    Instructions

Submit a written paper that examines the following:

    • Examine your three financial measures (KPIs) that you will track through your simulation (note – this assignment will repeat for every round you run). Financial Measures can be found in the various reports that Capsim creates after you have completed a game.
    • Include a 4th financial measure of your choice that adds to your understanding of the company’s performance. See page 1 of the Courier for ideas for different financial measures to examine.
    • In each round, you make some of your decisions based on the Customer Buying Criteria – what do the customers expect in the products they purchase? This information for your products in the five product segments can be found on pages 5-9 of the Courier.
    • Report on different Customer Buying Criteria each week. For example, look at the size of your product Able in the Traditional segment for this assignment. Identify and define the criteria (Capsim Help & Support can help with this). Then explain the customer expectations and what you set for your product on that dimension. Finally, compare your position with the Customer expectations and how the competitors set that number for their products.

Length: 1-3 pages, not including title page and references

  • Summarize key findings from your Week 3 and Week 6 assignments, highlighting how primary stakeholders influence financial performance, the company’s response to social issues, and the reflection of its mission, vision

Write a 4–5-page paper in which you:

Summarize key findings from your Week 3 and Week 6 assignments, highlighting how primary stakeholders influence financial performance, the company’s response to social issues, and the reflection of its mission, vision, and values in operations, decision-making, and CSR initiatives. Discuss how leadership and corporate culture align with and support the company’s mission, vision, and values. Provide specific examples of how the company’s leadership may (or may not) have demonstrated ethical conduct in response to internal or external challenges, focusing on outcomes related to stakeholder trust and corporate reputation. Describe the company’s communication strategies when engaging with stakeholders (e.g., employees, customers, investors, and the community), particularly in times of crisis or when addressing social issues. In addition, discuss the effectiveness of these strategies in ensuring transparency, accountability, and stakeholder engagement. Discuss how the company uses advanced technology to further its social governance goals, with a focus on ethical considerations, data privacy, and the digital divide. Provide specific examples. Explain how the use of advanced technologies impacts the company’s CSR initiatives, particularly in the areas of Empowering Workers, Labor and Human Rights, Health and Safety, The Environment, and Accountability. Provide specific examples. Integrate at least three supporting resources, one from the textbook and the others from the Strayer University Library, or other reputable sources.

This course requires the use of Strayer Writing Standards (SWS). The library is your home for SWS assistance, including citations and formatting. Please refer to the Library site for all support. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

Example: U.S. drone operations in the Middle East and questions about civilian targeting and legal responsibility. ???? Social Media, Disinformation, and Civilian Protection Analyze the role of social media in shaping global responses to humanitarian crises and violations of IHL, addressing both tools of empowerment and methods of amplifying disinformation Example: The controversy of the Gaza Genocide as presented in platforms like X, TikTok, or Instagram. ???? Environmental Destruction and IHL Investigate how warfare exacerbates environmental degradation, and whether ecocide could or should be classified as a crime under IHL. Example: The U.S. bombing of oil infrastructure or water systems in the Gulf Wars. ???? Climate-Induced Displacement and War Discuss how IHL and refugee law address (or fail to address) the forced migration by the combination of environmental crises and war. Example:  The migration crisis in Europe and the U.S.

  • Question 1 Suppose you are the marketing analyst for a skincare company. The company owns brand 1 in this category. The company wants to grow this brand market share by 5 percentage points next year.

Assignment 2 Advanced Marketing Analytics Team Assignment The assignment has three questions.

Question 1 Suppose you are the marketing analyst for a skincare company. The company owns brand 1 in this category. The company wants to grow this brand market share by 5 percentage points next year. You have been given a data set of 2500 shoppers, which reports for each shopper his/her purchases of a set of brands over one year (data for Q1). Complete the tasks below:

Calculate market share, penetration, and purchase frequency for each brand. Comment on the patterns of brand growth in this category.

Fit the Dirichlet model to the data and discuss the overall fit of the model.

What can you tell about consumer buying behavior in this category?

How does your brand perform compared to the Dirichlet model estimations?

What would be reasonable targets of penetration and purchase frequency if you want to increase your brand market share by 5 percentage points?

Discuss potential marketing activity that you can use to achieve the targets.

Question 2 Suppose you are the marketing analyst for an online cookware store. Your store manager has recently looked at the aggregate purchasing data in two periods and found that there is an increase in sales from previous non-buyers of the brand, from 0 units to 105 units (16% of the total sales). However, there is no increase in the total sales from period 1 to period 2. She believes that this is due to a poor performance in sales from existing buyers, especially the heavy buyers. She therefore suggests that the online store should invest more in customer loyalty activity, in order to retain the heavy buyers. She also believes that the 16% increase in sales from previous non-buyers is a success, hence there is no need to invest more in customer acquisition activity.

As the marketing analyst you know that there is always some natural variation from period to period in purchases. Apply the conditional trend analysis to the full data set (data for question 2). Present your findings to the store manager. Advise her if her beliefs are supported by your analysis. Discuss the managerial implications of the findings.

Question 3 Suppose you are the marketing analyst for a grocery retailer selling almond milk.  The retailer wants to find out the consumer preference of different attributes of an almond milk product including product type, brand type and price. The retailer also wants to introduce to the market a new almond milk product which is a combination of these attributes.

Your research team has already conducted a Choice-Based Conjoint study from 1400 respondents for three attributes, each has two levels:

    Product type: Regular and Organic

Brand type: Store brand and National brand

    Price: $3 and $5

Your team needs you to do some analysis (data for Q3).

Undertake a conjoint analysis, completing all the tasks below.

Calculate the partworths for changing product type from Regular to Organic (b1), changing brand type from Store brand to National brand (b2), and changing price from $3 to $5 (b3).

Convert the partworths to dollar values for Organic product, and National brand. Interpret the results.

Calculate the choice probabilities for all eight alternatives. Discuss the limitations of this method to estimate market shares.

In the current market, only four alternatives, 2, 4, 7 and 8, are available.

Re-estimate the market shares for these four alternatives.

The retailer is considering adding into this market with one of the remaining alternatives (1, 3, 5 or 6). Determine which alternative is the best for the retailer to add to the market by calculating the new market shares after the addition of each new alternative. Discuss the potential impact of the new alternative on the existing market shares.

The maximum length of the report (including tables) is 3,000 words. Front cover page and back reference page are not included within this limitation.
